Our Experience

Our site has 7 years experience in phase I-IV clinical research studies. We have been one of the top enrollers in one-third of the studies we have participated in. As top enroller, we have successfully completed 6 sponsor audits and an FDA audit. Our study coordinators and research staff are fully dedicated to research, with 34 years of research experience and over 60 years of nephrology/dialysis experience between them.

Our Practice

Renal Associates, P.A. is the largest renal care provider in San Antonio and the surrounding area with 29 nephrologists covering:

  • 8 outpatient clinics in San Antonio
  • 11 outpatient clinics in South Texas
  • 40 dialysis clinics in San Antonio and surrounding area
  • Vascular access center with 3 interventional nephrologists

Our Staff

Our staff is dedicated to providing rapid enrollment, timely and accurate data collection and excellent patient care. Our staff is IATA trained and experienced in the processing, packing, and shipping of blood specimens to central laboratories, including the handling of frozen specimens and use of dry ice.

PABLO PERGOLA

PABLO PERGOLA, MD, PHD

Dr. Pergola is the research director and has over 20 years experience in clinical research. He studied medicine in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the Facultad de Medicina, Universidad del Salvador. He received his PhD in Pharmacology, graduating with honors from the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City. After obtaining additional post-doctoral training in clinical research, he completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.

He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of the Division of Nephrology, UTHSCSA. He has authored two book chapters and 27 papers. In addition he has authored numerous abstracts presented at national and International Conferences. His research expertise includes cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology, and diabetic nephropathy.
