JAVIER RODRIGUEZ-SANCHEZ, M.D.

I was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. I obtained my medical degree from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. During medical school I had the opportunity to do several hospital rotations in Boston and Houston. These experiences made me realize that I wanted to continue my professional training in the United States. I completed my Internal Medicine internship and then residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. During this time, and thanks to the orientation of great mentors, I decided to focus my training in the area of nephrology. I completed my Nephrology fellowship at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Here I had the opportunity to learn from world renowned scientists and clinicians, leaders in their respective fields. I was exposed to the bread and butter of nephrology but also experienced the challenges of diagnosis and treatment of the rare and more unique cases in Nephrology. My areas of interest are diverse, but I enjoy the discussion of glomerulonephritis, electrolytes, and acid/base cases. The thing that I enjoy the most about my job is the ability to create great relationships with my patients and get involved in their care long term.
